Region of Tatra

The Tatry region lies in the northern part of Slovakia. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations. It encompasses the districts of Poprad, Stará Ľubovňa and Kežmarok (excluding villages north of the Spiš Magura). Poprad is the cultural, industrial, tourist and administrative center of this region. The area of this region includes three national parks: the Low Tatras National Park (NAPANT) in the southwest, the Tatra National Park (TANAP) in the northwest and the Slovak Paradise National in the southeast; historical towns (Kežmarok, Poprad), popular ski restorts (Solisko, Interski), spas (Nový Smokovec, Štrbské Pleso), aquaparks and thermal parks.

  • SPA Nový Smokovec

    The climatic SPA Nový Smokovec belongs to the most famous health resorts in Slovakia. It is situated in the heart of the Tatras national park 1018m above sea level.

  • Tatranská Lomnica

    Tatranská Lomnica is one of the largest and most beautiful settlements in the High Tatras and is also a centre of tourism and sport. It is located 6 km east of Smokovec, at the foot of Lomnický Peak.
